FOX updates

Team,

A bit of important information that I arrived from Fox that I need to communicate with you:

Because of the high demand for the Borat BBY exclusive sku (w/ t-shirt), Fox produced 8K more units and are rushing them out to stores.

Checklane 15 heads up. The 188 stores that have this checklane received the wrong trays. The message on these trays currently reads “Must Have DVD’s - $9.99”. The price message should read $14.99. In an effort to fix the issue, Fox will be sending in the correct trays (“Must Have DVD’s - $14.99” – other than the price point, they will look identical). The product inside is correct and should remain the same. Can you please alert the specialists at these checklane 15 stores to look out for the delivery of the corrected trays and swap them out ASAP? Delivery should be no later than Friday, 3/16/07 (stores may see them on Wednesday or Thursday). Furthermore the Carton label will read:

FRONTLANE 15
Display Immediately
"Must Have Movies - $14.99"

If you have any questions, please let me know and thank you for all your help on these tasks.

Exact Hours for Next Week

Team,

Here are some updates since our conference call this morning.

There was an error in the punchlist. The Sony HD DI audit is listed at 1 hour for the time – this is wrong. It is truly a pre audit and it should be incorporated into your normal time - only taking about 10 minutes tops. The thing that may take the most time is having a Blue Shirt unlock the cabinet below the display.

We finally received the store list for Plantronics – it is in news and info. This will now be in a separate call report, 4440 round 168. It is budgeted for one hour and will be open for the full week.

General Kodak Installation Q&A

Kodak Questions and Answers:
1. There is no POG for the endcap. Best Buy system shows something VERY different, our POG is just a picture.
Was this store listed in the store list posted to News & Info? If yes, and the Endcap is set your team has done what was asked of us. If no, and the store leaves it up then it is in Kodak’s hands now.

2. Checklist says a non-functional printer display is used. Short of opening and breaking a functional display, I have no idea what to use.
Kodak failed to include specific directions to take an actual functional printer from the store’s inventory, get a blue shirt to license plate it as a display unit and put the printhead, cartridges and paper into the printer as if it were plugged in and functional

3. We are told to "attach the printer cutout lug-on" (whatever that is) to the back of the printer mat stand. Sorry, but I used all the parts available and had nothing left. Can you get me a few extra "printer cutout lug-ons" for my stores?
For any extra parts please call the toll-free number I sent out yesterday, not 1-888-44-KODAK

4. Step 5 says use the tree clips. What are they, how do we get them, etc.? They are not in the box.
Those should have been in the kit. Please call the toll free number I provided yesterday.

6. What goes in the brochure holder on the side?
Brochures will be shipped along with flip book materials for the week of 3/19

Kodak flipbook materials

Hello,

Another piece of information regarding the DI-01 Endcap reset. The flipbook materials for the DI-01 and the DPS reset will be shipped prior to the week of 3/19. The production date was too late to include them for the reset of the Endcap and they will be placed in the flipbook holder on the DI-01 Endcap during the DPS reset. Thank you.

New Kodak Number

Hello,

Kodak has updated the hotline number for any issues related to the DI-01 Endcap reset. Please use the number below:

Please do not use the 1-888-44-KODAK number. Thank you.

Kodak Update

Hello,

I have spoken to nearly all of you and am aware of the issues surrounding your installation. Here is the feedback that I have received:

We are aware that there are issues surrounding the installation of the DI-01 Endcap in Best Buy stores. Here are the two most pressing issues and the contingency plan for each:

· Stores that either did not receive or did not locate the materials for the Endcap reset should respond appropriately in the call report and call the Kodak hotline at 1-888-44-KODAK. If further visits are needed, these will be determined at a later date.
· Stores that were unable to make the materials fit should respond appropriately in the call report and call the Kodak hotline at 1-888-44-KODAK. If further visits are needed, these will be determined at a later date.

Movie Hours Change

Hello Team,
Well, I am a bit embarrassed to tell you that I both received and passed on incorrect information to you all. The hour reduction for this week is two hours, not 1.5 as we discussed on conference call. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Below are the remaining hours you each have remaining for the week. Please remember that 1.5 hours need to be reduced from your normal GEO visit so the GEO visit should be 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on your normal visit time. If you do your geo on THURSDAY, the THURSDAY and FRIDAY visits can be done on the same day for your convenience and uploaded on Thursday by 5pm. If you do your geo on Wednesday, the two visits can not be combined.

Peter Pan Figurines

Hello,

The BVHE help desk received a call from one of our Specialists asking about the cylinder that the Peter Pan, Wendy, & Captain Hook figurines are in – the package states there are 7 figurines available and that customers can collect all 7.

The packing note is generic to the product. Best Buy only brought in the three figurines (Peter Pan, Wendy and Hook).

Customers will have to purchase the other figurines elsewhere :(

M1 Endcap - Exact

Hi All,
Below is a copy of the piece that ran in the 3/1 Retail Insider explaining to the stores that Mosaic would be setting the M1 and clarifying that their POGs will be incorrect until 3/11. Please pass this on to your teams so they are armed with BBY’s explanation if needed this week.
Thanks, RA

Subject: RE: M1 EndCap Reset on 3/4

Mosaic Setting M-1 Endcap March 4
· On March 4, Mosaic will be in all stores that have the M-1 endcap to set the $9.99 “Definitive 200 Albums of All-Time.” This was a late addition, so your planograms for M-1 will be incorrect for the week of March 4.
· Once the endcap is set, the Best Buy Media Team needs to replenish and maintain product as needed.
· A tear pad for this promotion should arrive by March 11, so flex this space for the first week. The tear pad lists all 200 albums.
· The promotion lasts until May 19, so the Media Teams will re-merchandise the endcap on May 19.

Mileage Changes

Folks,
Mileage is a hot button that I need to address.

There is no longer an allowable mileage for movies. If you are covering movie visits for someone else, talk to me about ways to compensate you for your trip since we will no longer pay mileage for movie visits as of this week. I will take care of you but mileage claims on the program are now null.

For folks covering movie and exact visits in the same day, you can not claim mileage on both visits; exact only. Put 0 on the movie store visit mileage – if it requires a mileage entry, put 1.

For exact, there is a firm 20-mile round trip deduction and we need to combine the even and odd round on the same day wherever possible; particularly if you claim over 30 miles.

I thank you in advance for helping with this!!!

Peaceful Warrior Movie Trailer

Check out the film’s website at:

It was originally released on 6/1/2006 and is scheduled for re-release on 3/30/2007.

Kodak Time Correction

3/2
The correct time for the Kodak endcap reset is 60 minutes NOT 2 hours as indicated in the punchlist.
Laura

I have signs!

3/2
Folks,
Do you have extra “currently displayed” signs in your stockroom that you are not using (maybe not traited for the section). 1 ½” current movie railstrips are desperately needed if you have any collecting dust! If so, please let me know what you have so we can bring our compliance numbers to 99% by sharing within our stores! Here is a list of the current movie and music signage that I’ve gathered in recent travels; ready to ship wherever it is needed. First come, first serve J
Movies:
Green Nick Header sign
2 – 1 ½” green nick railstrips

HBO Header sign
2 – 1 ½” hbo railstrips

1 1 ½” comedy central railstrip

1 1 1/2” Disney railstrip ( I wish I had 100 of these )

3 Next Gen header signs
7 HD 1 ½” railstrips
6 BluRay 1 ½” railstrips

A load of 2 1/4” HD or BluRay rail strip signs (black and white) – stores with baskets often use these because they fit in the plexi railstrip holders that clip onto the baskets

3 ½” BLACK AND WHITE GENRE SIGNS that go above the headers in some stores:
2 Next Generation DVD
2 FOX
Comedy Central
Special Interest
3 DVD New Releases
Action
Best Sellers

Music
All current IOI header signs (1 of each)
All current IOI raistrip signs (1 or 2 of each)

2 powerwall blue boxes

1 Little Steven header sign
1 little steven railstrip sign

1 WEA header sign
1 wea railstrip sign

Gift Card Return

3/2
Good Afternoon –

A couple of notes before the weekend:

The Gift Card Reset will need to be completed between Sunday 3/4 and Friday 3/9. The instructions along with all POGs and the Gift Card Stock Count Sheet (images of valid gift cards) have been posted to News and Info. The call report is similar to the one that you used at the end of the year for collection lows and OOS. The task is to reset the following POG fixtures: Front Lane 1, 2, 7, 14, Wondersled & Spinner (not all stores have all of these fixtures). You will also be able to pull the POGs at the stores if needed. After resetting the fixtures to the new POGs, you will need to complete the call report. An additional 2 hours have been allotted to complete this project. Since this is a movie program, I am sure you can all use all of the time for the gift card reset or other movie projects. Sorry for the delay in this project, I was waiting on the final information from Best Buy before communicating to you. Program Number for this project is 4432, Round Number 955

Next week, we have one final week of core hours reduction. All stores will need to reduce 1.5 hours (instead of 2 hours as we have been in recent weeks) from the geo visit (not the Friday visit as some documentation indicates). Then we’re back to normal hours the following week J

Make sure to tell your stores that they are responsible for setting the movie sled next week (entertainment). The entire sled will now be movies. We do not have additional time to accomplish this task, however, if it gets late in the week, we must go ahead and set it. I realize this would take time away from your core activities and may be difficult so please start prepping your store on Sunday that they are responsible for setting the fixture and you will audit on your geo visit. FYI – the stores are also setting RT’s and checklanes.

Also prep your store that the last time we set the powerwall signage will be this week. As of 3/11, it becomes a blue shirt responsibility. They should start preparing to accept this task from you.

Last, if you have not responded to the Peaceful Warrior sign up, I need that prior to Monday. http://www.thepeacefulwarriormovie.com/ Here is a link to the trailer for Peaceful Warrior as well as additional info about the movie.

Don’t forget, quizzes are due by Sunday at 5pm.

Thank You – I hope you all have a great weekend.

RT Signage VS POG

An important note – thanks for the suggestion Laura! Please do the same in your stores if the POG doesn’t correspond with the signage so the stores won’t throw the signage away!

Email:
One note---the Rt fixture that has TV titles only works if you rearrange the movies. They sent price point railstrips that didnt correspond with the titles per the POG. But I arranged them straight across according to price and the signs worked.
