We have an update regarding this issue. Best Buy has set up the signage system to print ISP tags for all titles on Side 2 of the Ent. Sled calling out the $6.99 promo price for these titles. Please communicate to the field specialists if possible to turn the header and side panel signage calling out the $5.99 offer with images of the Universal titles to show the white back of the signage. Some stores have already written 6.99 over the 5.99 price - this is a store decision. The signage for side 1 should NOT be turned around as the price message of 5.99 is correct for the SPHE titles POG’d for that side. As I currently understand it, best buy will not change the pricing in their system to 5.99 nor will new signage for the 6.99 be shipped.

Plantronics blue tooth headset employee discount
Hello Team.
Many of you have asked about the employee discount program for the Plantronics Bluetooth headset.
You can simply go to the website at www.plantronics.com/partnerpromo. The headset retails for $149 but you can purchase it for around $57.
This headset requires Bluetooth capability on your cell phone.
FYI, there are other Plantronics products you can purchase at cost as well. All purchases must be done online, not in Best Buy stores.

Gift Card Reset Report

FYI...
The actual Giftcard Reset call report is not available yet. Only the Placeholder is showing up in QRelay and on the Symbol. Don't panic, we have until Friday to complete this project. I am sending communication that the report is not available for download, and I'll let you know when the issue is resolved.
This report will be available in QRelay and on the Symbol in the "Exact - BBY GiftCards" header section. The Program number is 4432.

The Hitcher Repricing
- Hello,
We have a last minute project that was added for tomorrow’s 5/04 Weekend Prep Visit for the Movies Team.
Universal has asked that Mosaic locate and reprice the WS and FS versions of The Hitcher. This title was released on Tuesday 5/01 but was shipped with the incorrect everyday price label of $22.99. The correct everyday price is $19.99. The title is on sale this week at a lower price but the Telxon price file will reflect the everyday price.
Some key points:
· This project is being billed as a FLAT RATE project – claim 30 minutes. Because of this a question has been included asking how many minutes the specialist spent on this initiative. It is critical that this is answered correctly as we will utilize this for both payroll and billing purposes
· Questions have been added to the core Movies call report
· There is an average of 50 units total WS/FS in Best Buy stores as of this morning. I have included this store detail in the attached file

Ops Recap for the Week
Team,
Here are the highlights of the Ops call from today:
Spiderman bands. Attach bands to the 12 titles listed. If your stores are OOS on those specific titles, select other Sony title. The promotion running indicates that the customer will receive the free Spiderman bonus disk with ANY BluRay DVD purchase (not just Sony) however Sony has asked us to highlight their studio’s product.
The lenticular signs for the Night at the Museum should be received in stores today. Please make sure the sign is secured and placed on the Permashipper on Tuesday.
Madacy is concerned that field reporting regarding the # of budget sections has been inconsistent on a week to week basis. There are 204 stores that reporting a different number of budget sections each week . Please be accurate when reporting the number of 4 ft budget sections in your store.
5/13 exact we will reset promo sleds – you will have additional time.
Gift card resets are coming in early May. These visits will be assigned to the movie specialists.
Sony has hired Market Star to audit our project execution – their reports to both Sony and Best Buy has not been favorable. It is critical that our compliance on projects such as Sony Vaio Signage are in the 90%+ range. Exact specialists need to make every effort to locate and place the new Spiderman signage that is coming for Sony on your first visit next week.
Disney tracked stores that placed one price sign (ISP) for two new release titles Dejavu and the Queen versus stores that placed two or more (in several locations). Stores that placed 2+ ISP signs for those 2 titles reported an increased sales revenue of 12%. This info can be communicated to your stores when faced with pushback on placing price signage.
The Sam’s Club / Archos project for select stores has been pushed to the end of the week of the 7th or most likely the week of the 13th. The specialists will receive the kits at some point next week.

Sony HD DI Instructions
Here is what went on with my HD HI Endcap for Sony:
(1) the thumbdrive that I had only showed a autotxt file and a mediabox.bin file
(2) I could not get the files to copy and paste into the hard drive
(3) after 3 phone calls I finally got someone on the line after 45 minutes that person decided that I needed to have Geek Squad upload (1) file onto the thumbdrive
Here are the directions for uploading the files into the thumbdrive (I apologize for not having the exact file names, but I am told by Geek Squad that it's easy to read)
Insert your thumbdrive and get ready to download files into the device:
go to: HTPS://MTI.sharefile.com/
email address: mosaictech@hotmail.com
password: mosaic
Click on: Best Buy folder
You will see (3) files: AUTOPLAY.txt
Mediabox.bin
Best Buy ___ camcorder
Download the files that are missing from your thumbdrive

What happened to me is, the first time "Maria" forgot to tell me that the auto.txt should be AUTO.TXT (all caps); so Geek Squad only downloaded the Best Buy_camcorder file (which is a wav. file I believe)
Then, after another day of this not working, I find out that my auto.txt wasn't correct, I had GS download that file and all 3 files were now there.
However, now the issue is that I can't copy/paste ANYTHING from the thumbdrive to the hard drive and we have ordered a new "media manager" for the Media Box. If you need that number: VPD476-0630-00 that is for the new media manager (Vendor Provided Dislay) and it has new firmware and new software. Right now I am running the thumbdrive off the Media Box. It has some glitches, but works most of the time.
The new wav. file should look like: (1) a sony camera on black background, (2) a family in a park with kids ... the file should NOT be the arboretum / flowers / cactus shots.
Hope this might help someone.

Same Day Transmissions
Folks,
One new metric where the company and districts are being evaluated by Best Buy as of last week is same-day transmissions.
In a nutshell, we must upload the visit ON the day that the visit is completed in the store. I know that some of you on the Exact program have completed your visit on Sunday or Monday and not uploaded until the due date (Tuesday or Thursday). Likewise, some of you on the movie program may do your geo visit on Wednesday but not upload until the due date (Thursday). This can’t happen going forward – Best Buy requires same day transmission from us going forward.
Our compliance in this area was 82.5% last week and needs to move to 100% asap. Very simple, upload your visit on the day completed – don’t wait until the due date. Questions? Let me know.

Taffy gave me 5 Disney header signs today and a few of the fat railstrips. I know Lexington needs 2 headers and will bring them with me next week. I believe I remember someone else needing Disney headers...could you let me know if it is your store so I get them to you?

OK team - I'm back in the saddle and will begin posting email communications on this site again. Only posts that are general in nature will be posted here (those that apply to most everyone). You will still receive personal emails regarding store specific projects, wins, and opportunities.
Since many of you indicated that you could not access the company communication board and would like to be able to interact with one another, this is your chance. I have given you all permission to post on this board. If you find an error that you want to report to your team members (such as in a call report), find an easier way to do something, have a cheat sheet to share, or just need help, this can be a great tool to communicate with other specialists.
I hope you will all use it and check it frequently for real-time communication.

3/18: Peaceful Warrior Update

I have attached the final schedule for the next two weeks. Please review and contact me with any questions or concerns.
Important Highlights:
If you are unable to make your shift, please contact me as soon as possible so I can attempt to find a replacement. 100% coverage is critical on this project.
Please make sure you sign in on the light blue Mosaic sheet at the Loss Prevention desk at the store entry. Also sign out on this sheet when you leave the store.
Wear a solid polo (Mosaic polo if you have one), khaki or black pants, closed toe comfortable shoes (no tennis shoes). Wear the Peaceful Warrior button while distributing vouchers.
When your shift is complete, it is important that you complete your call report on the day the work was performed prior to 10pm. If you have difficulty, please feel free to call or email me. If you are new to the program or need a refresher course on QRelay, here you go:

The Sony Location Free training has been postponed. No MONDAY training will be offered. IF you were on the Friday training call (my apologies as I hear it was handled poorly), please make sure you fill out the conference call report for your two hours. We will NOT do the in-store 60 minute blue-shirt training this week. More info to come later next week.
These are all flat-rate projects – you are paid for the total budgeted amount of time UNLESS the store has completed the task before your arrival. In that rare case, record only the time it takes to audit to make sure it is set correctly.

The Sony Location Free training has been postponed. No MONDAY training will be offered. IF you were on the Friday training call (my apologies as I hear it was handled poorly), please make sure you fill out the conference call report for your two hours. We will NOT do the in-store 60 minute blue-shirt training this week. More info to come later next week.
These are all flat-rate projects – you are paid for the total budgeted amount of time UNLESS the store has completed the task before your arrival. In that rare case, record only the time it takes to audit to make sure it is set correctly.
I have attached a copy of the Punchlist for general instruction in case any of your are unable to access.

3/12 - All - Travel Schedule / Photos Needed
Team,
Here is my travel schedule for the next 2 weeks. As I described on our conference call, I’m going to be a moving target in order to hit all of your stores in the next two weeks before I start traveling out of the district. I will do my very best to stay on track from a scheduling standpoint and would appreciate seeing as many of you as possible.
Special project – I need your help!!! It’s your chance to be a model! As I am in stores, I will be taking photos of our movie and exact specialists for a recruiting seminar I am leading at the company summit the first week of April. I am trying to visually portray “who” the Mosaic specialist is and “where” to find fantastic folks like yourselves. Please be wearing your Mosaic polo and name tag. If you have not received your shirt/tag, let me know as I have a few extra that will be with me in the car. If I’m not going to see you on this trip because of a scheduling conflict, will you please take your camera to work and have someone shoot a photo of you in the store and email it to me. It can be any photo that represents you – funny or serious doesn’t matter. As a team with your mosaic/or movie specialist or pose with your favorite blue shirt. I need these photos no later than 3/22 to add to the presentation. Thank you!!

FOX updates
Team,
A bit of important information that I arrived from Fox that I need to communicate with you:
Because of the high demand for the Borat BBY exclusive sku (w/ t-shirt), Fox produced 8K more units and are rushing them out to stores.
Checklane 15 heads up. The 188 stores that have this checklane received the wrong trays. The message on these trays currently reads “Must Have DVD’s - $9.99”. The price message should read $14.99. In an effort to fix the issue, Fox will be sending in the correct trays (“Must Have DVD’s - $14.99” – other than the price point, they will look identical). The product inside is correct and should remain the same. Can you please alert the specialists at these checklane 15 stores to look out for the delivery of the corrected trays and swap them out ASAP? Delivery should be no later than Friday, 3/16/07 (stores may see them on Wednesday or Thursday). Furthermore the Carton label will read:

It is truly a pre audit and it should be incorporated into your normal time - only taking about 10 minutes tops. The thing that may take the most time is having a Blue Shirt unlock the cabinet below the display.
We finally received the store list for Plantronics – it is in news and info. This will now be in a separate call report, 4440 round 168. It is budgeted for one hour and will be open for the full week.

General Kodak Installation Q&A
Kodak Questions and Answers:
1. There is no POG for the endcap. Best Buy system shows something VERY different, our POG is just a picture.
Was this store listed in the store list posted to News & Info? If yes, and the Endcap is set your team has done what was asked of us. If no, and the store leaves it up then it is in Kodak’s hands now.
2. Checklist says a non-functional printer display is used. Short of opening and breaking a functional display, I have no idea what to use.
Kodak failed to include specific directions to take an actual functional printer from the store’s inventory, get a blue shirt to license plate it as a display unit and put the printhead, cartridges and paper into the printer as if it were plugged in and functional
3. We are told to "attach the printer cutout lug-on" (whatever that is) to the back of the printer mat stand. Sorry, but I used all the parts available and had nothing left. Can you get me a few extra "printer cutout lug-ons" for my stores?
For any extra parts please call the toll-free number I sent out yesterday, not 1-888-44-KODAK
4. Step 5 says use the tree clips. What are they, how do we get them, etc.? They are not in the box.

Another piece of information regarding the DI-01 Endcap reset. The flipbook materials for the DI-01 and the DPS reset will be shipped prior to the week of 3/19. I have spoken to nearly all of you and am aware of the issues surrounding your installation. Here is the feedback that I have received:
We are aware that there are issues surrounding the installation of the DI-01 Endcap in Best Buy stores. Here are the two most pressing issues and the contingency plan for each:
· Stores that either did not receive or did not locate the materials for the Endcap reset should respond appropriately in the call report and call the Kodak hotline at 1-888-44-KODAK. If further visits are needed, these will be determined at a later date.

Well, I am a bit embarrassed to tell you that I both received and passed on incorrect information to you all. The hour reduction for this week is two hours, not 1.5 as we discussed on conference call. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Below are the remaining hours you each have remaining for the week. Please remember that 1.5 hours need to be reduced from your normal GEO visit so the GEO visit should be 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on your normal visit time. If you do your geo on THURSDAY, the THURSDAY and FRIDAY visits can be done on the same day for your convenience and uploaded on Thursday by 5pm. If you do your geo on Wednesday, the two visits can not be combined.

Peter Pan Figurines
Hello,
The BVHE help desk received a call from one of our Specialists asking about the cylinder that the Peter Pan, Wendy, & Captain Hook figurines are in – the package states there are 7 figurines available and that customers can collect all 7.
The packing note is generic to the product. Best Buy only brought in the three figurines (Peter Pan, Wendy and Hook).
Customers will have to purchase the other figurines elsewhere :(
